five-o

Listening, I feel that realization is so close,
in this song by Manchester's   .. james, from the album "Laid"

I think approaching the big five-o, this song hits a nerve,

I've been looking for truth, at the cost of living ...

06 - Five-O.mp3 (10.05 mb)

Are you open for trade
Your salvation, for something, for some thrills
Is a body of work for your inspection
You can trace, trace my concern
My concern

I've been looking for truth
At the cost of living
I've been afraid
Of what's before mine eyes
Every answer found
Begs another question
The further you go, the less you know
The less I know

I can feel your face
Gonna make it mine
I can be the man
I see in your eyes
Can you take my weight
Are we both too small
Know each other well
We've met before

Will we grow together
Will it be a lie
If it lasts forever, hope I'm the first to die
Will you marry me, Can we meet the cost
Is the power of love worth the pain of loss
Can you pay the bill, will you keep the change
Are you here for the party, or are you here for the pain

I can feel your face
Gonna make it mine
I can be the man
I see in your eyes
Will we grow together
Will it be a lie
If it lasts forever, hope I'm the first to die
Hope I'm the first to die

Get there.

by MartmanPDX 31. May 2010 18:58

When this slogan jumped into my head, it was 1995.
I was starting a new business, to teach corporate dilbert-types about Windows NT, a new operating environment for the PC.
I had a reason for everyone to hear me loud - so they would open their wallets, empty
them into my company's coffers and jump on-board.

What I was really doing was creating the slogan pattern of the next advertising era.
Two word tag lines where in, I said so.  After many other 2 word taglines started to appear,
I breifly thought "I need to work on Madison Ave." Yes, after me, gone would be the three-word-slogans, "Just Do It", or "Blah Blah Blah" (AT&T Billboard),

The problem, of course, when listening to one's own imperatives is it
becomes some crazy, mixed-up and constantly spinning, need to "go"
in some direction, like a compass twirling near a too-strong, magnetic field.

Is "there" actually a cliché?

"Home is where the heart is" , or,

"Grow where you are planted" or,

is it by Buddha realization

As a Christian is it Heaven?   Can I only Get there by dying?

Where is "there"?

REM   ¯06 - Can't Get There From Here (Album Version).mp3 (6.20 mb)

When the world is a monster
Bad to swallow you whole
Kick the clay that holds the teeth in
Throw your trolls out the door

If you're needing inspiration
Philomath is where I go, I go
Lawyer Jeff he knows the low-down
He's mighty bad to visit home

(chorus)
(I've been there I know the way)
Can't get there from here
(I've been there I know the way)
Can't get there from here
(I've been there I know the way)
Can't get there from here
(I've been there I know the way)

When your hands are feeling empty
Stickheads jumping off the ground
Tris is sure to shirr the deers out
Brother Ray can sing my song

(I've been there I know the way)
Can't get there from here
(I've been there I know the way)
Can't get there from here
(I've been there I know the way)
Can't get there from here, here, here
(I've been there I know the way)

Hands down, Calechee bound
Land locked, kiss the ground
The dirt of seven continents going
Round and round
Go on ahead Mr. Citywide
Hypnotized, suit and tied
Gentlemen testify

If your world is a monster
Bad to swallow you whole
Philomath they know the low-down
Throw your trolls out the door

(repeat chorus 2x)

Can't get there from here
(I've been there I know the way)

(Thank you, Ray)
