When

by MartmanPDX 26. September 2010 17:23

When all is said,
when all is done

When the kids are gone,
or gone to bed

When you're sure
you're certain
but certainly unsure

When the past grows dim
and the photos fade

When there's no one to call,
and the phone doesn't ring

When the stuggle is over
and the calm and peace draw near

When life, and living
are before you
and nothing you "wouldn't do over again"
(but surely wouldn't) is behind you

When you feel your heartbeat,
or hear the rhythm
of
your own breathing

its then you know,
at the very least

you are,
alive.

Would for you

Jane's Addiction - Perry Farrell

I would for you             Listen here:  I Would for You.mp3 (6.38 mb)

I'm everybody's slave
I made you my slave
You said
This I do for you
If it would help
To give the world back
What it gave
Then I would
I would
I would
I would
I would for you
I would for you

You say my eyes
Are crazy eyes
Sometimes they are
And so are you
And if you wonder
What I would do

I would do
Anything
If I could
You know I would

I would
I would
I would for you
I would for you
I would for you
I would for you
I would for you

"Sometimes to realize you were well,
someone must come along and hurt you.
"  ~ Perry Farrell

Ever feel like ...

by MartmanPDX 14. September 2010 06:29

You've found yourself,
not so lost after all.

That the world spins faster,
and nothing gets done.

That time goes faster,
yet paradoxically stands still.

Ever feel like a raindrop,
moist and wet and full
ready to burst

Fresh, new and
crystal clear

Ever feel like you knew better,
but tried anyway.

That the deck is not so stacked against you,
as it is worn, and frayed at the edges
like too many smoke filled poker
table halls, with too many liquor stained
green felt worn tops

Ever felt like making your own luck,
like rolling the dice

Ever feel it hurting inside,
so bad it gnaws and grinds,
till tears welt, and roll down your cheek
like
raindrops.

Full, salty, blurry, and translucent
sage from the wisdom,
mounting in your pain

Ever feel like ...
you are so content,
that its time for a change ?

He's a mighty good leader

I like Beck.

His cover of a Skip James song,
on the One Foot in the Grave, album (which has many jems)
is one of my favorite songs.

Listen to Skip James version here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkjmjYrVL0g

The blues, moves me ... if I ever learn guitar
this is the first song I would want to learn.
