Go together like a Horse and Carriage...
The lyric, from Frank Sinatra has some ring of truth.
You are indelibly linked, in God's eyes.
But plenty an Amish horror story, can tell
of the dangers of spooking a horse
and toppling a carriage.
Our job, in keeping the sanctity of the vows
we made, is to "not get spooked".
Translated: fear not
God's divine plan for you and your spouse,
is that they will complete you.
Not in a weird, Austin Power's mini-me way,
but in a way that balances
the household.
The main thing to keep your woman, safe, is
to hold her in high regard, and to hold her. Period.
The kindest thing you can do, if you have children,
is to respect your wife. This teaches them to feel safe, too.
The manly things that you need to do,
will not be easy. Be strong.
And wife's, oh so blasted by Gloria Steinham's revolution,
and ability to achieve equality, to marry each other and
to be free of man's grip ... know this:
God has a plan, for you, to be part of the divine union,
between a man and woman.
The completeness of his plan, is spelled out in great detail.
Read about it,
pray with your spouse.
The strength you will gain, in looking to him
as opposed to looking funny at each other,
all the time ... is really a relief.
All the blame, the arguments big and small,
the ego-driven drive to be right,
melts away ... as you look to the Father, for direction.
Humbling? You bet.
Disarming? Yes (finally at last, battlements can be set on fire)
You want to know the truth? Try what God says,
and yes, you can handle the truth.
peace,
m.
